#LoveTeaching

Nope, it wasn't the Summer of '69!  It was the Winter of  '84!  I was back home in Bremen, Indiana - on winter break from Indiana State University - feeling pretty good about my first semester of college!  The content of my Latin American political science class had fueled my ideological passions!  My Spanish professor from Puerto Rico was so short that he waddled like a penguin as he paced back and forth in front the class!  I had found a roommate, and a friend, after spending the first month "roomieless"!  Yes, it had been a good first semester in T. H. (Terre Haute for those less familiar)

After some holiday shopping in Mishawaka, IN my dad and I were having lunch and out of nowhere he says, "Trace....just what kind of job do you think you'll get with a Latin American political science degree?  I mean, you will be moving around all over the place, right?  Why don't you become a Spanish teacher instead?"  I purposely chewed on my bite of sandwich a bit longer, swallowed, and responded, "Sure!  Why not!  Sounds like a good idea!"

And YES!  In the swallow of one bite of sandwich my life was forever changed!  And here it is 2015 and I am still a Spanish teacher and LoveTeaching!
