Thanks, Lilly!

The Lilly Endowment has supported the Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program for 27 years.  Its aim is to support Indiana teachers in their trek of life-long learning by empowering them to explore dreams, refine techniques and develop new passions!  http://www.lillyendowment.org/ed_tc.html

WT World Language is proud to have one of our own in this year's Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program (http://www.teachercreativity.org/) spotlight - Malang Habib Diatta!  Here is a brief summary of how this NCHS French teacher will spend some of his upcoming summer:

“Riding the Rails Through Europe: A Celebration of Languages and Culture”—experience linguistic and cultural differences by traveling by train and staying with families in France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Germany."

This will truly be a celebration of languages and cultures for all involved!  And one can only imagine....with a big smile....the stories that will be told after this great adventure!

WT World Language has had several apply for this prestigious program and it is worth recognizing another winner from a few years back!  Here is a summary of Steve Perkins' winning proposal:

"Great Caesar’s Ghost:

Bringing a Roman Soldier to Life

Summary:     During the summer of 2011, I will visit a re-enactment group, work with experts in ancient Roman military practice, purchase an authentic reproduction of ancient Roman armor, and create a character for presentation in my classroom."
