For Summer! But thanks to a fabulous student of mine from period 1, Spanish 8X I will be learning how to view the universe over my summer break.
This fabulous student commented - in Spanish - at the start of semester II about the new telescope he had received as a gift for the holidays. I tucked that away in my memory banks because I am saving up money to buy a telescope for my husband.
As this student finished up his exam last week I asked him to jot down a few pointers on buying a telescope! What great recommendations he gave!
Then today, as I was busy at my school computer, he dropped by, pulled a book out of his back pack and handed it to me. The book is titled, "Night Watch - A Practical Guide to Viewing the Universe". This was a "must have" he had jotted down for me in his notes and as he handed me the book he said that he was anxious for me and my husband to get started on our journey to the stars!
Teachers and students can't wait for summer vacation...that goes without saying! But this summer I will take the inspiration from my star gazing student and hit the books! Here is to summer full of cloudless nights and learning! Thanks, Adrian!
