World Language We Are!

Washington Township, located in Indianapolis, IN. is home to approximately 11,300 students.

Our blog will dedicate itself to showcasing the World Language programs in our three middle schools - Eastwood, Northview, Westlane, and North Central High School.  It is certainly worth mentioning that our three middle schools each offer three years of study in Chinese, French and Spanish; with 80% of each school's population enrolled in a World Language!

North Central High School provides its 3,500 (65% of the school's population is enrolled in a World Language course) students the opportunity to study Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Japanese, Latin and/or Spanish - yes, seven World Languages; for a four or five year sequence -with the option to culminate these years of study with Advanced Placement exams, International Baccalaureate exams or ACP dual credit.

Some 35 World Language teachers have author rights to this blog so there are sure to be some great stories, lots of amazing ideas, and some inspiring pictures!  We invite you to join us on our journey to "Spread The Word!"

As the chair of this amazing department I get to see a lot of cool stuff!  So, I will end my post today with some pics I took while walking around the halls of North Central the other day!  Enjoy!
